Product Pipeline
Azaya Therapeutics has several product candidates under development and several in the research stage. To reduce the risk and the associated cost of clinical development, Azaya’s first two product candidates are based on marketed chemotherapeutics that have well-established efficacy against many types of cancer, and are among the largest selling chemotherapeutics in the world.
In addition, the PSN technology has been applied to several other product candidates which have shown promising experimental cytotoxic activity that have not yet been developed due to their high toxicity and/or their water insolubility.
ATI-1123—Docetaxel. Azaya’s lead product candidate, ATI-1123, is the PSN formulation of Sanofi-Aventis’ Taxotere (docetaxel). Non GLP preclinical studies are completed and GLP toxicology studies have been initiated; results are expected Q2 2007.
ATI-1150—SN38. ATI-1150 is the PSN formulation of SN-38, which is the active metabolite of Pfizer’s drug CAMPTOSAR&reh; CPT-11. Confirmatory preclinical studies are ongoing and results will be known in Q1 2007.
